Portraits are my first love through which I seek to capture presence and explore the dynamics of individuality and universality.
Fauna
The animal kingdom is also a constant source of opportunity to examine the human experience and learn through it how to better understand ourselves. Seeking to capture the presence of each animal, while taking liberties as I explore my own curiosity of colour.
Flora
The natural world is a continual reminder of the magic of planet earth, as we swirl through the universe where we are surrounded by only dust and gas, our planet is extravagant in glory and function and beauty and abundance and I seek to surround myself in my home with the imagery and energy of nature, so I’ll be sharing that with you, so stay tuned!
Gina spent her childhood in the stillness of the forest on Vancouver Island. This early and deep connection to nature influences her work, her life and her home. After completing her studies in Calgary at the Alberta College of Art and Design, she settled in Calgary and set up shop. Fellow creatures of the earth, sunlight refracted and dispersed harmonize with gestural form and intricate line to express images that hope to indicate a reminder of the connectivity of all things.
